GODAE Project Office

The GODAE Project Office is currently in the process of preparing the implementation of GODAE OceanView, supporting the newly appointed GODAE OceanViewco-chairs.

The GODAE Office was established by the Patrons to provide management support and coordination for the various tasks of GODAE. It is supported through contributions from Patrons. The initial Office has been established in Melbourne, at the Bureau of Meteorology. The tasks of the Office are to:

  • Facilitate and support the IGST and its various projects and tasks
  • Enhance international coordination and cooperation of GODAE with relevant groups, including research programs and operational entities
  • Distribute material on GODAE via the GODAE Web site and publications
  • Prepare and publish GODAE Reports, as appropriate
  • In collaboration with the Patrons, promote the practical benefits and objectives of GODAE among the operational and research communities
  • Assist the IGST in the task of monitoring progress and achievements
  • Encourage the development of national activities

The GODAE Executive (Patrons Chair or co-Chairs, IGST Chair, and Director of the Office) shall function as a group to provide timely advice, and resolve issues, as needed. In 2006 the GODAE Project Office (GPO) moved to the UK and is now located at the Met Office in Exeter.
