Events and meetings
As an international experiment it is in the nature of GODAE to affiliate partner scientists from all over the world. This arrangement enables the most recent developments at the forefront of operational oceanography to be captured. Regular exchange of new findings and essential developments is crucial and is accomplished through regular IGST (International GODAE Steering Team) meetings. Additionally specialised groups have been formed to address particular issues, like coastal/regional modelling or intercomparison experiments. All these teams and groups meet at regular intervals.

Furthermore GODAE works towards involving the wider scientific community in its research. Therefore so far three symposia and one summer school have been held, to which many young scientists were invited.

IGST meetings
The International GODAE Steering Team (IGST) was formed as a result of the first GODAE workshop and has sole responsibility for the development of the Project. Annual IGST meetings are held to review progress and decide on future plans. Reports from previous IGST meetings can be found in the IGST report document section of this website.
-
GODAE Symposia
Since the start of GODAE three symposia have been held. They were tailored to the requirements and developments of their time.
-
Summer Schools
The GODAE summer school aims to motivate young scientists and professionals that will be the principal movers and users of operational oceanographic outputs in the next 10 years.
GODAE meetings/workshops
In the current phase of GODAE specialised groups are forming to address particular GODAE issues, such as regional and coastal modelling, ecosystem modelling, intercomparison experiments or observation simultation experiments. To give these groups scope to work to their full potential, and to reach out to new scientific partners, specific meetings and workshops have been invoked and are supported by the GODAE Project Office.
